Animal Care Assistant

Kathy has been at Millbrook Animal Centre since October 2000. She is very passionate about animal welfare and loves all sorts of animals.

Currently working in the small animal house, Kathy looks after all of our bunnies, guinea pigs, ferrets and small rodents. She has a pet degu at home and would love to have lots of animals if her home was big enough!

Kathy has completed her NVQ Level 2 in Animal Care at Millbrook, and one of her most memorable moments from her work here has been rescuing a stray Cockatiel, which flew into one of our trees!

Kathy was also involved in one of our biggest rescue missions. In 2004 we were called out to a local site where a lurcher had given birth to 10 puppies underground. Kathy went out with the RSPCA Inspectors to help save them and to bring them back to the centre to be raised in a much safer environment and then to be successfully rehomed.

In 2004 Kathy ran the London Marathon to help Millbrook and she raised a fantastic £1,600 for the centre.
