General information

Say hi to Trixie - you may recognise her and that's because she has been at Millbrook for 443 days!

She came to us as part of a large prosecution case; her previous owner was a breeder of Bengal cats and was discovered to have over 60 of them at her property, the poor cats were living in terrible conditions and many of them were suffering from cat 'flu amongst other life-threatening conditions.

Trixie was pregnant when she arrived at Millbrook and was cared for by one of our staff in their own home so that she could be in a quiet environment as she raised her kittens.

We are looking for a very special home for our Trixie, she is a real character and will need a dedicated owner to help her adjust to life as a normal family pet. She is still a bit unsure about being handled but she has really bonded with certain members of the cattery staff as well as our volunteers so we know that with time and patience that she'll learn to trust her new family.

It's apparent that Trixie's whole life has been as a breeding machine, we believe that she had kittens way back in 2007 and is likely to have had litters every year since; now that she is spayed she no longer needs to worry about getting pregnant and having to care for kittens - she can start to properly enjoy life.

Trixie will need a quiet home without other cats or children, but to the right home she could live with a calm, cat-friendly dog.

Being a Bengal she is very active and adventurous so she definitely needs to live in a rural environment, safely away from busy roads and railway lines. One of her favourite things to do is explore the cattery and she loves to climb on top of the cat pens in the main corridor - we think she will absolutely love to have a safe garden all to herself to relax and play in.

We believe that Trixie is around 11 years old, but her beautiful face and sprightly character certainly don't match her this!

If you think you have got what she needs and can offer her a home, please get in touch and we can tell you all about her.

If you could offer this animal a suitable home, then please visit Millbrook to find out more.
