Donations

Thank you for thinking of donating an item to us, we are able to accept many things from you, either for our animals, or for us to sell on at events to help raise money.

In the first instance, please email or call us to find out if the item you wish to donate is something that we can make use of. If it is something that we cannot make use of, we may be able to point you in the right direction to another charity or organisation who can either make use of it, or who can recycle/refurbish it.

From March 31st 2025 new regualtions (Simpler Recycling) will be in place in England regarding waste collections, and legally the RSPCA must comply with these. This will mean that we will be more efficient with how we dispose of the waste we create at the centre, and therefore, this means that we need to be stricter about the donations being dropped off to us. Historically, many donations are left at the centre without us being asked if we can use them, and more often than not, we can't make use of them, so unfortauntely we have had to put them in the bin.

With the stricter measures in place, we simply won't have the capacity, so we please ask you to follow our guidelines when it comes to donations:

1 - if it is food/treats for the animals, is it in date and in an unopened bag/box? If so, please call or email to find out if we can make use of it.

2 - if it is bedding/towels, is it something that we use? You can call/email to check

3 - if it is an item that you think we can sell on to help raise money, is it in a saleable condition? If so, please call or email us to check that we can take it.

In terms of bedding for the animals, we are happy to accept the following items:

• Blankets
• Towels - WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE THESE AT THE PRESENT TIME

We are unable to accept donations of the following items:

• pillows
• sheets
• duvets
• sleeping bags
