The Operation....

Pandora was close by and stayed very calm whilst the vet was operating on Russell, in fact she was happy with her big pile of hay!! The vet carried out what is known as an open castration where the testicles are removed and then clamped for a few minutes to cause the blood to clot. Because the operation is carried out outside the risk of infection is reduced by not stitching the testicles.
