Worming Time!!!

At two weeks old, the kittens need their first dose of worming treatment

Firstly, the kittens need to be weighed so that we make sure that they are given the right amount of wormer based on their weight

At the moment, the kittens weigh on average just over 0.30 kg

A small syringe is used to measure out the right amount of wormer and then it is given to each kitten orally - they don't really like it, but it's for their own benefit :)

They have this done for three days in a row, and in two weeks time it will happen all over again - lucky kittens!! By that time they will be even bigger and will probably make more of a fuss about it - lucky staff!!!

After an exhausting day of worming treatment and wobbling around their pen, it's time for sleep :)

The kittens spend alot of time doing this right now, but in time we will see them become more active as they start to learn about the world around them
