About me
🐾 Meet Blaze: A Joyful Labrador Cross Ready for His New Beginning
Age: 5 years old
Breed: Labrador Cross(30 kg)
Energy Level: High & Enthusiastic
Ideal Home: An experienced, patient household in a quiet area with a private garden.
📖 Blaze’s Story
Blaze arrived at the center after being removed from a difficult situation where his basic welfare needs weren’t met. Despite a tough start to his first 5 years of life, this resilient Labrador cross has an absolutely lovely nature and a contagious enthusiasm for everything he does! He is truly a joyful dog who is ready to find a family that will show him how wonderful the world can be.
Because everything is so exciting to him now, Blaze has that classic, bouncy Lab energy and loves to jump up to say hello. He will need an experienced owner who can gently train him and teach him some four-on-the-floor manners.
Blaze can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you—once he realizes you're a friend, he warms up quickly and his loving personality shines through. Because home life is still very new and a bit scary for him, everyday household noises might startle him at first. He needs an understanding, patient family who will let him settle in at his own pace.
🧸 Toys & Playtime
Blaze is a massive fan of toys and loves nothing more than playtime! However, like a true Lab, he can get a bit too enthusiastic—especially when it comes to tennis balls. Because he gets a little over-excited with them, his new owners will need to manage his ball games safely and swap them for chunkier, sturdier toys that can handle his enthusiasm.
🏡 His Perfect Match
Blaze is looking for a quiet, predictable environment where he can build up his confidence. Here is what his dream home looks like:
Location: A quiet, rural, or semi-rural area. Busy, built-up towns will be too overwhelming for him right now.
Garden: A private, securely enclosed garden is a must so he can safely play with his toys and burn off energy.
Company: He needs owners who are around most of the day. He will need time to adjust and a patient routine to slowly build up the time he can be left alone.
Children: He can live with kids of secondary school age (12 years plus), provided they are used to dogs and comfortable around a bouncy, enthusiastic boy.
Other Pets: Blaze absolutely loves other dogs! However, to help him focus on his training and settling in, he needs to be the only pet in the home. His new family should definitely keep him well-socialized with walking buddies.
Staff Tip: At 5 years old, Blaze is the perfect mix of mature and playful. With a bit of time, patience, and some fun, structured toy training, he is going to make an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding companion.
