Meet Loki, a handsome 7-year-old boy who is looking for a quiet, patient home where he can truly blossom. Loki has been a bit shy and quiet during his time with us at Millbrook, but he has a gentle soul. Once he gets to know you, his sweet side shines through—he is already a big fan of our staff and volunteers, especially when they are offering his favorite treats! With a little time and some tasty incentives, Loki will surely become a devoted companion.

Loki's Ideal Home

Indoor Only: Due to his health needs, Loki must be kept indoors.

No Other Pets: Loki needs to be the sole king of his castle—no other cats or dogs, please.

Families: He can live with sensible children aged 12 and older who understand when a shy cat needs a little space.

Understanding FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)

Loki is FIV-positive, which sounds a bit scary at first, but it really just means he needs a specific kind of lifestyle. FIV is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat's immune system, making them a bit more vulnerable to everyday infections. However, with a high-quality diet, regular vet checkups, and a stress-free indoor life, FIV-positive cats can live completely normal, happy, and long lives. Keeping Loki inside protects him from catching minor illnesses from the outside world, and it also prevents him from passing the virus to other cats. Please note that FIV is completely specific to felines, meaning it is 100% safe for humans and any non-cat pets.
