We have a male crossbreed looking for a foster home, possibly with the right introduction may be able to live with fully vaccinated and neutered dog.
He will need someone based at home to start with to help him to become house trained and start the process of being able to be left, he will need access to a private, secure garden. He is active, energtic and full of fun. This young dog is highly intelligent and eager to please and excells at the weekly training classes he attends. Ideally he needs to continue attending these classes here at Milbrook. He needs a family who have time to do enrichment activities with him. We feel he could live with secondary school age children.
He can not live with cats or small pets.
Potential foster homes will need to live within an hour of our centre in Chobham, Surrey.
When cruelty case dogs are removed by RSPCA Inspectors they come into our care at Millbrook for physical and mental rehabilitation. Court cases can sometimes take between 6 months and 2 years to conclude. At Millbrook, the dogs are often rehabilitated long before the conclusion of the court case. We prefer them to be out in foster homes as we feel this will offer them far more than we can always offer in a kennel environment.
They are part of ongoing prosecution cases and so we would love them to have the comfort of a home environment while they wait for their day in court.
We cover the costs of food, medication and veterinary treatments needed during fostering. You must be able to come back to the centre once a month for a health and vet check on a set day.
They must wear their collar and ID tag at all times. All dogs will also need to stay on the lead in public at all times.
Unfortunately some cases do not have the results we aim for as the courts decide the outcome. Fosterers must be prepared that there is no guarantee there will be a successful outcome and it may result in the dog being returned to the original owner or an associate of theirs.
If the courts decide that the dog needs to be returned to an owner the fosterers must return the dog to Millbrook with immediate effect.
If you do decide to foster a dog you will offer the dog the chance of love and comfort in a home environment for whatever length of time and this is of huge benefit to the dog. Please consider fostering carefully.
If you feel you have the time and a place in your home to foster this dog please apply below.
