About Leo

Leo hasn’t had the easiest start to his life, but he hasn’t let that dull his capacity to love. While he can be a bit shy and hesitant when meeting new people, once you earn his trust, a switch flips. He transforms into a super affectionate, loyal companion who will happily soak up all the love you can give him.

Leo isn't looking for a fast-paced lifestyle. You won't find him begging to go to busy cafes or crowded parks. Instead, his dream day involves a nice, quiet walk followed by plenty of peaceful downtime at home.

His Perfect Match

Because of his sensitive nature, Leo needs a specific type of home to help him truly settle in and blossom:

A Quiet Sanctuary: Leo needs a calm, predictable household without a lot of coming and going.

Someone Home Most of the Day: Leo needs to learn that the world is a safe place, even when he's alone. His new family will need to be home most of the time to gently work with him on building up his confidence when left for short periods.

Calm, Older Kids: He would do wonderfully with secondary school-aged children (teenagers) who understand dog body language, know how to be calm around a shy dog, and have a lot of love to give.

The Only Pet: Leo can be vocal when he sees other dogs and takes a while to warm up to them. To help him feel completely secure, he needs to be the only pet in the home.
